did horrible in my year12 jan mocks. will i be able to improve my grades

i moved to UK in 2024 and joined Alevel in the beginning. i didn’t do any GCSEs and was told to do maths and english GCSE in november. Passed my GCSEs and got a 7 in maths. i started doing maths Alevels along with Alevel arts and A level graphics. Since i never did arts and graphics as a subject before, i found myself really struggling and my predicted grades were Cs for both arts and graphics in my mocks. since then i’ve started spending my time on researches and discussions with peers which has helped me adjust into the environment. i believe i can do far better than before but i don’t know if my new grades are bound to revolve around my predicted grades or i can change them with my progress over the year. We have just started our personal investigation and i think i understand the subjects better now (not totally yet) but i feel like my teachers wouldn’t think i can get a better grade because of my first impression

is it possible for me to make a big jump and improve my grades or all of this is of no use now?

Also what areas of my coursework would exactly be marked for my final grades. does it start from my personal investigation or does it include everything we’ve done before that

thanks (sorry for bombarding so many questions)

Don’t worry about your Jan mocks!! Do you do as levels? and is that your end of years ?maybe that will be a deciding factor for predict grades. if you can tell me more about how your school decided it but this is generally the case!!
