what’re the best apps/websites for science revision?

i am doing gcse triple science. i currently use seneca, which works pretty well for me, but i’m trying to see if there are any better options as i am willing to pay for premium features. i don’t like medly and gizmo is good but not my most preferred option. repetitive content really works for me.

There’s free science lessons, physics online, physics and maths tutor; Primrose Kitten; Science with Hazel; Revision Monkey; Save my exams; BBC bitesize; CGP etc when it comes to online resources to learn the content.

You can make flashcards on platforms such as Quizlet; Anki (people seem to think that Anki is God’s work but I’ve never used the app.). I like Knowt (I don’t do GCSE science anymore but I used it for French stuff because Quizlet is locking features behind paywalls) etc. Then get this kind of software to do spaced repetition for you or you do that yourself.

hi!

i would recommend free science lessons on youtube, he has a very relaxed voice that is easy to listen to and make notes on. seneca was one of my favourites also like you and quizlet - they are a great way to highlight mistakes also.

hope this helps:smile:

I'd say cognito is great, you can watch the videos on youtube or you can use the website and get seneca style questions i guess? there's also a quizes, practice questions, past papers (by year or topic), flashcards... I don't really use it much since it's broken down into a lot of small chunks like seneca though.

I was thinking of getting Medly, would you mind sharing why you don't like it and what you like about gizmo? Thanks so much

Hi, I'm a year 10 student and i’ve switched from save my exams to medly since last year and honestly love it. It includes almost every gcse subject and the ai is great, I can understand questions that were almost impossible before. I also watch a lot of free science lessons on YouTube (his explanations are super clear!), and sometimes use PMT and BBC Bitesize for certain topics or go over tricky bits.
