What’s the Best Study Hack You’ve Ever Used?

Hey everyone!
With assignments, exams, and deadlines always around the corner, I’m curious—what’s the best study hack you’ve ever used?
For me, the Pomodoro Technique (25 minutes of focused study, then a 5-minute break) has been a game-changer. It keeps me from burning out and makes studying feel way more manageable!
Do you have any go-to strategies, apps, or methods that help you stay productive? Let’s share some tips and make studying a little easier for everyone!

I'm not sure if this is specifically a study hack, but active recalling is really useful and helps me a lot. It's quite common but it really makes a difference when you spend time retrieving information from your mind to make sure it stays there

hi!

i absolutely love the pomodoro technique - its such a good balance! one of my favourite is blurting with a variety of colours as i am a big visual learner - so i would write everything i remember in one colour then once i have finished, add in / correct information in a different one, and would continue doing this until it is all one colour!

hope this helps:smile:

Hello there!

Love this question! I’m currently at uni, and honestly, one of the best study hacks that’s really worked for me (besides Pomodoro, which I also love!) is active recall combined with spaced repetition. Instead of just reading or highlighting notes, I quiz myself regularly, either using flashcards or by covering up notes and trying to explain the topic out loud like I’m teaching it. It helps me really understand the material, not just memorise it.

Another big one is “blurt” revision. I take a blank piece of paper and write everything I know about a topic from memory, then go back to my notes and fill in the gaps. It shows me exactly what I need to focus on and feels productive even if I get things wrong at first.

Also, having a dedicated study space and putting my phone in another room makes a huge difference. I sometimes use Study With Me videos on YouTube too. Just having someone else on screen studying in silence keeps me more focused.

It’s all about finding what keeps you engaged and making it sustainable. Little tricks like these have seriously saved me during exam season!

I hope this helps!
Remember you can do it!

Hey @emilyyy1527 🤗

I didn't know about all the different revision techniques when I was a student, I wish I had! All I really knew about was mind maps, Quizlet, YouTube.. I did always record myself reading my revision notes out loud then I'd play these back when I was walking to school, sat on the bus, during all those moments where I'm not doing anything and I could be. It was like listening to my own podcast haha, it really helped me retain information!
