Missed coursework deadline

The deadline for my coursework draft was Friday and I didn't hand it in. I was going through a lot from Dec-Jan and coursework wasn't a priority. I also got diagnosed with depression and am currently taking medication for it.

I emailed my teacher on Saturday asking if I could submit it on that day but i didn't end up submitting it because I didn't feel well. I also was planning to leave the week before.

I don't know what to do. My coursework is incomplete and 20% is gone.

I don't want it to effect my entire class aswell if it will.

I might aswell drop the subject at this point in time.

Does anyone have advice?

First of all I’m sorry that you’ve been going through some hardships recently. I hope things start to go better for you.

In terms of course work, speak to your teacher. I’ve known people in similar circumstances and these ‘deadlines’ are never quite are be all or end all as they’re made out to be. Your teacher will understand that you have been going through something difficult and be able to help you with next steps.

Also don’t worry about impacting your class, there’ll be other people in the same place as you.

Hey @Sofiiisjjeje,

Lots of teachers set internal deadlines for coursework submissions that don't always reflect the external deadlines set by the exam board - if this was a deadline for a draft, it's more likely that it was internal. I'd recommend talking to your teacher about your current circumstances and asking what can be done about your coursework going forward.
Regardless, it shouldn't have any impact on the rest of your class, so I'd try not to worry about that too much.
