Any point with level 3 apprenticeships?

Just for context, it’s finance apprenticeships level 3. I’ve seen quite a few open but never applied since I’ve always assumed there was no point unless it was degree level. But I don’t want to not sign up and then regret it later.

Is there any point in signing up for them? Is there any way I can turn a level 3 qualification into degree level later in the future?

If it’s accounting/finance then i’m pretty sure all school leavers would start at level 3? It goes level 3 AAT -> level 4 AAT -> level 7 ACA/ACCA etc which is masters level.

some companies will let you move from level 3 to level 6/7, but it really depends on what they want. if its a finance/banking/accounting company they most likely will let you transition to higher levels.

For example, if your qualification is AAT level 3, you could go into AAT level 4 then to ACA/ACCA/CIMA. But this is something to ask by emailing the company, or during your final interview.

those are advertised as level 7 though, so its dependent on what the company is willing to offer

wdym? I figured if you do level 3/4 at one place and they don’t offer level 7 then you’d apply for level 7 elsewhere is that right?

That’s the thing, some companies would want to train you up fresh from the start, so might not take you in if you have a qualification beforehand. Or that’s how I think it is anyway

The employer doesn't train you, the college does. The employer simply provides the work to support the training. Pretty much every employer wants you to go in with the highest possible qualification as it is a big investment paying for your training.

Wait, so you’re saying if I go in already with say a level 3 AAT qualification, I’m more likely to be taken in for further training in the future?

If the employer sees the potential in you then he would want to provide the training to get you to the highest possible qualification.
