You've asked this in the nursing and midwifery forum, where the advice you'll get on placements will be on nursing and midwifery placements.
Your question on business management placements will be better answered in that forum.

Hello there!

I am an International Business Management student who has done placement year.

You are able to secure great places in different areas of any businesses.
Common roles include Marketing & Brand Management, where students work on market research, digital marketing, and social media campaigns, and Human Resources (HR) & Recruitment, assisting in talent acquisition, employee relations, and training programs. Many students also gain experience in Finance & Accounting, working in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, or in Operations & Supply Chain Management, handling logistics, procurement, and process optimization.
Other popular placement opportunities include Sales & Business Development, where students engage in client management and strategy, and Consulting & Strategy, supporting business research and competitive analysis. For those interested in entrepreneurship, working with startups provides exposure to business planning, digital marketing, and customer engagement.
Well-known companies offering Business Management placements include IBM, Unilever, PwC, Deloitte, L’Oréal, Microsoft, Amazon, and HSBC, as well as major brands in retail and FMCG like Tesco, Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, and Adidas.

I'm sure you will find a great place!

I hope this helps!
Good luck!

Ahhhh thought you were in 2nd year, my only advice is to start applying as soon as you get into 2nd year. Apply to anything that has to do with your course, the competition is ridiculous

Doing a placement will put you light years ahead of your course mates. It’s a sacrifice because you have an extra year in uni but it’s definitely worth it imo

Don’t change your mind about it, even if your friends will be graduating early. Just focus on yourself and secure the placement. Best experience I’ve ever had and the company was so good and so were my coworkers

Hi @ilovespareribs,

I'm in second year of studying business and management ☺️, so I've been informed of the abundance of placements available to business and management students.

The first place I recommend looking is business you really admire and see if they have any placement years available. For examples I know people who have applied for placements at F1 teams, gym shark and more!

Rate my placement is a great site for finding placements and graduate schemes.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
Sophia (Business and Management)

Hi @ilovespareribs ,

I'm Emily, Recruitment Officer from Essex Business School and I wanted to share some information on the placements we offer.

In terms of specific examples, past students have worked with organisations like Deloitte, PwC, Unilever, KPMG, and L’Oréal, as well as smaller firms in diverse sectors such as tech, retail, and consulting.

Our placement team and academic staff are dedicated to helping students find placements that align with their career aspirations and provide a great learning experience. We will always do our best to support you getting a placement in an industry in which your aspirations align.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you need further information.
