Work experience irrelevant on personal statement?

I’m applying for engineering and did an IT work experience, would this be worth mentioning considering I talked about what I learned from the week like presentation skills, leadership, teamwork ?etc….

Yeah it's definitely worth mentioning.

Work experience is really an opportunity to showcase your skills in terms of developing, building and improving them and ultimately how they relate to your course.

It's important to show transferability of your skills and plus it would help broaden the content of your personal statement.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! That’s reassuring

Yes, definitely! Highlighting transferable skills like teamwork, leadership, and presentation skills will strengthen your application. Just ensure you link them to engineering the best you can when outlining the experience.

Very briefly, yes. However, the bulk of your PS must be about why you want to study Engineering, and topics within Engineering that interest you. Unis are not actually that fussed about your 'leadership' expertise - despite what your teachers might tell you.
