iPad recommendation uni

I want an iPad that I can use to annotate slides and make notes for uni, and I also wanna use it for digital art and drawing, what would be a good one to use that’s not overly expensive but will last me thru uni

Also when i went to the Apple shop I preferred the size of the smaller iPads, like the mini, but can someone tell me if they are suitable for notes and stuff, despite smaller screen size?

Hello mia66688,

Firstly, what course will you be doing at university?

I haven't used the iPad mini personally (I use the standard model) however, I've seen several people recommend this model as a notetaking and reading device. If the screen size is fine for you, then I don't see the iPad mini being an issue for notetaking. You can always go back to the store and this test out. My (standard) iPad works fine for me when it comes to notetaking and annotation and it has lasted me though university so far.

Have you also considered looking at the iPad Air? It has a better chip, and might be better when it comes to digital art and drawing.

Hope this helps,

I'll be honest and say that I haven't used the iPad Air or Mini (as I use the standard model). From what I've heard, the iPad Air has a more powerful chip compared to the mini (M2 in the Air vs 17 pro in the mini) and the iPad Air is also bigger than the iPad mini.

Beyond that, based on my research and looking at the specs on Apple's own website, I cannot see a major difference between the two models. I would say that the mini should be fine for your needs if the main purpose of the device is for note-taking and you prefer the size of the mini when writing. I use the Standard iPad (with my main purpose also being note-taking and annotating) and it's working fine for me so far (despite it being a lower end model than the mini).

Best regards,
