Narrowly missing offer requirements

I’m currently doing an access to HE course to study a degree in Literature. I have offers from Durham and York asking for 30Ds and 15Ms. Just wondering if they’d still allow me entry if I narrowly missed these conditions?

They might, it will depend on the numbers. Universities are obliged to confirm the place of those candidates holding a firm offer who have met their offer requirements. The same goes for those who were not accepted by their firm but who met the offer requirements of their insurance choice. They'll do this even if it means accepting more students than the course can really accommodate.

If, once they've done the above, your course is full then you'll be out of luck. :frown: However, if there are still some places left, they'll take a look at the best candidates who just missed their offer requirements. If that's you, then you might be accepted even though you didn't quite meet your requirements.

Unfortunately no-one knows how many "near miss" candidates they'll be able to accept until A level results day (well, technically a fee days before as the unis get the results a few days earlier do the above process can be completed by results day.)
