epq?

hii i’m in y12 and i will be starting my epq after half term, however i have a question..

if i study law (a-level) can i still do my epq on something to do with law? my epq wouldn’t be about any of the content we have studied as i want to focus on a specific part of the law my exam board doesn’t cover, however one of my friends said that your epq cannot be to do with your a-levels (for example you can’t do it on law if you study law a-level)

any help would be greatly appreciated as if that is the case i still have some time to come up with a new topic 💗

Absolutely! I don’t know where you got the other idea from. Mine was medicine/biology related and I did Biology A-Level, my friends one was more Biology related and they did Biology A-Level. You can include some of the content covered at A-Level (I certainly did) but just expand on it. It would probably help you a lot more if you had a foundational A-Level knowledge on it already.

Do you know what the exam board is for your EPQ? I don't know about other exam boards but for AQA you can't include info that you will be examined on because then you would be getting credit twice. That's dual accreditation and you could be disqualified because of it. My coordinator and supervisor have said that your topic can be related to A levels, but it shouldn't be anything in the specification. Hope this helps!
