Withdrawing from master's and applying for CPR in future

Hi SFE,

As a result of personal health difficulties, I'll be withdrawing from my master's course. There's one tuition fee instalment left to be paid by you.

Do you recommend that I withdraw before this instalment is paid, or should I try my best to complete the full course through my difficulties, where, as a result of these difficulties, the chance that I will succeed is very low? Or is it a better idea to withdraw now rather than wait?

I'm asking as I don't want to hinder my chances of a future CPR application being accepted so I want to make the right decision.

Would my current course not receiving the full tuition fee loan from me help my CPR application for a new masters?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Hi Issa,

This is up to you. We don't pay the tuition fees to the university - we pay the Postgraduate Loan and this is directly to the student.

If you are leaving due to reasons outwith your control and have evidence of this then you can apply for an additional year. Thanks, Jason

Thanks for your reply

Just to confirm, if I withdraw now, the final instalment for this year won't be paid to me after the university notifies you I've withdrawn, right?

That's correct. Once the university notifies us we would then update your application to 'withdrawn' and block any further funding from being released. Thanks, Jason
