Withdrawing from Masters Degree

If I drop out a week after receiving my tuition fees, do I have to pay the tuition fees to the university or student finance?

I have seen something that says you don't have to pay it to either, as it will just be added to your Student Loans balance.

Hi there,

You'd need to speak to the university regarding any fees they require as we don't offer tuition fees for Post Graduate Master courses.

Should you withdraw from your course, all future payments of PGL will be cancelled once the university notifies us. The loan payment made for the payment period in which you withdrew will be left in place and will not be recalculated based on the number of days you were in attendance. Any payments you are entitled to will be added to your balance. If you receive a payment that was designated for a payment period after you withdrew from your course this will be classed as a loan overpayment. Thanks, Jason

Okay, thank you. So if I leave university a week after receiving my payment, the payment just gets added to my SL balance?
Additionally, I am leaving this course because I have realised I made a mistake in changing degree subject. Can I get funding in the future to do my Masters again or is this not possible?

Hi there,

This is depending on the date of the withdrawal from the university. We do offer funding for some exception undergraduate courses or PGCE, postgraduate Healthcare. But for Master courses, you'd need to have withdrawn due to reasons outwith your control in order to be assessed for funding on a new course. I've enclosed further information below
