Shortening Internship Request

I am a recent graduate that graduated in summer 2024 and I am still hunting for graduate jobs at the moment. I applied for this internship for a Wolfram Project and since i haven't got any relevant experiences in the corporate world, I thought why not give it go. I got the offer but they want my to work from March to December 2025. Most graduate schemes start in September 2025, some in early summer around May/July times and I was thinking is it risky to ask them to shorten the internship for maybe to 3 months? Please give me advice as i will need to respond within 2 working days.

If you don’t actually have any graduate jobs lined up yet then there’s no point doing that. Keep ur internship with its length just in case you don’t get anything else, and if you do get another offer, just give in your notice during the internship that a more permanent job opportunity has come up and you’ll be leaving.

I wouldn't, I found many grad jobs are taken by people who did internships with the company, so if you play your cards right there could be a job at the end.
