Compensated pass

Does having a compensated pass affect your application when applying for master . If requirement is a lower second class and have an upper second class but with compensated pass in your second year.

Hi!

I recommend reaching out to your academic tutor for advice on this as they will know the specifics of your university and your individual circumstances.

Hope this helps! Faye 🙂

Hi @Petrosgzl

As @YSJstudents suggested, the best solutions is to contact your current academic/personal tutor, and perhaps the university you are applying to as well, as they will be able to give you the most accurate response.

In my experience, a compensated pass is most likely seen as a pass regardless, especially seeing your upper second class degree exceeds their requirement of a lower second class degree. But of course the course leaders of the master you are applying for will be able to better inform you on that.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

I think if it were me I could reach out to the university that you are looking to apply to, to study the masters degree as postgraduate applications are made through the university itself, rather than an external body such as UCAS as you did for undergrad applications.

You could contact the admissions department and ask if they accept the compensated pass in your second year, and remember to emphasise you have an upper second class degree even though this requirement for the course is a lower second! The tutors in the department for your prospective course may also be able to offer you some advice on this too.

Hope this helps,
Jess

Short answer, yes it can. But if your transcript and application are otherwise strong, then any impact should be minimal.
