A-level Spanish or Computer Science?

hi everyone, I’m in y11 currently and I’m predicted a 9 in gcses for both subjects, and my other options are maths and physics. I’m not sure what I want to do at uni I was originally considering compsci but I find the gcse so boring 🥲 at the same time I know spanish alevel is quite difficult (especially the films and novels) and I’m not sure if I can handle it lol. thanks for any input!

It depends what you want to do for further education (if you want to go down that route). If you want to go down a maths/physics route then compsci may look more relevant to unis and employers, but having a language is also a great idea. I'd think about the grades you need and which subject you're more likely to achieve that grade in.

Remember that Maths is the most important subject for entry to any sort of CS related degree - surprisingly, you don't need an A level in CS and not having it does not disadvantage you in any way.

Maths, Physics and Spanish would be perfectly okay - you could still apply for a wide range of STEM subjects such as Engineering, Maths, Natural Sciences etc, plus areas like Law, Politics, Philosophy etc where no specific A levels are required, and with Spanish, Language degrees ,Spanish/Hispanic Studies etc, and other subjects 'with Spanish'.
