Should I apply for medicine

I’ve wanted to do medicine for a few years, but during a-levels I was told that I didn’t have the right qualities to be a good doctor. I applied for med- but didn’t get an offer( I did quite badly in the interviews). I’m currently doing a neuroscience degree, and I don’t know if I should apply for med after, I graduate.

Ask yourself, is it something you still want to do? Do you think you'll cope with it? If yes, then go for it and gooodluck, and if not that's fine, go for something else

only you can really know know if it's the right thing for you. if you can try and get some work experience or a part-time job in the healthcare sector to help you make a decision, because you won't truly know what it's like until you've experienced it.

one thing to bear in mind is that as a graduate you're going to be spending at least 4-5 more years in university if you choose to pursue medicine now, depending on whether you apply for the grad or undergrad course. loads of people do manage to do this but you need to determine whether you personally are able to commit to a lot more time in full-time education.

you've probably grown as a person in various different ways since your a-levels though, so as long as you believe that you currently have the qualities expected of a doctor i don't think you should be too bothered by what you were told during a-levels. it might not have even been true!

Please don’t be discouraged as there are definitely pathways to medicine even after a neuroscience degree! One option is graduate entry medicine, which allows you to apply for medical school with your current degree. Many people take alternative routes into medicine, and your background in neuroscience could be a great asset and something that makes you unique. If you're truly passionate about it, I would encourage you to explore this option and keep pushing towards your goal. Best of luck on your journey!

Bro if you can get to interview stage then you’re clearly capable. Once you pattern up interview practice by learning the right things, they can only ask you so much. Aspiring medics has a really good course icl and med camps yt Channel was quite good as well. If you really want to do med then do it. You don’t need to have the qualities of a doctor right now you’ll learn all that in med school. Just do more practice and you’ll be good. It’s all down to asking yourself what you really want to do. And I’ll leave that to you.
