EPQ Timing

I'm planning on starting my EPQ this week, but with exams and extracurriculars im not 100% convinced I'll have it done by summer. I was hoping for a predicted grade before early applications on 15th October. If I finished it over the summer, would my assessor be able to give me a predicted in time, and if not, how important is having a predicted EPQ grade? I just want to know whether its worth really locking in with it before summer mocks

Hello,
It really depends when you need it in by, if it is due in after the summer then don't rush it but rather take your time and enjoy the process as then you will be more likely to get a better grade. You do not need to have completed your EPQ for a predicted grade. These grades are predicted and so not your final ones so your assessor can come up with a predicted grade based on your work at that point.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions please do let me know.

Many schools don’t actually do a predicted grade for EPQ at all because it isn’t seen as “good practice” so if you don’t get a predicted grade it’s fine, just put it on your UCAS form with grade “pending” as with your others. You can still get reduced offers without a predicted grade.
