I failed my Gcse mock, am I cooked?

So I did a Religious studies mock last week and yesterday I got my results back.
I got a 3.
My teacher told me that it wasn't that I didn't have enough knowledge, but that I was too slow at answering questions.
If I try and answer questions quicker is there still a chance I may pass, or will i still fail?

Practice mock papers at home and time yourself. You have the knowledge ,you just have to manage your time accordingly. Quick question : What is the name of the oldest and complete manuscript of the bible we have today?

You need to practice and check top grade essays! For example here is one https://tilf.io/evaluations/67a10be7770c0b9647b2b509 see what they did, what the feedback was and try and do the same. It's free for students

how much work did you do beforehand? I got an 8 (1 mark off a 9) in my January mock and I found that the best way for me to revise was:

1.

make memory dumps / comprehensive notes on all topics of the syllabus

2.

our teacher gave us a sheet of all the questions from the past 5 years of OCR RS GCSE papers, I just went through these the day or two before the exam and me3morised any definitions I didn't know / wrote bullet point answers on Q's I found difficult.

If your teacher said you knew the knowledge, did you know it immediately in the exam? or do you have to think for a minute about definitions / denominational differences before each question. you should know the knowledge so thoroughly you barely have to think before writing.

as for whether or not you're cooked...
lots of clever people in my school did badly, there were a lot of 4's and 5's. generally, the worse you do in the mocks, the better you improve by the time the GCSE's come around. what were your other results like? did you perform the same in your other subjects or did you score highly in your others as this can affect the amount of time you can dedicate to RS?

if you scored a high 3 in the mocks, I would say you could bring that up to a 7 or an 8 with work
if you scored a low 3 in the mocks, I would say you could bring that up to a 6 or a 7 with work

Thanks for all the advice!
I'm going to try doing more mocks at home soon to get in more practice
Wish me luck!

Hey, I got a 2 in my last RS mock in November. Now predicted a 5. I have only started revising one month ago. Wish you luck

Update!
I have done mocks basically every day recently, and I managed to bring my result up from 3 to 6!
I seriously can't believe it, and thank you for all of your advice.
