Student Finance Loan Disbursement & Payment Deadline Issue – Need Advice

Hi everyone,

I’ve been accepted to the University for a postgraduate program and will be funding my studies through a Postgraduate Loan from Student Finance. However, I’m facing an issue with the university’s payment schedule and the timing of my loan disbursements.

My situation:
The university requires payment for all selected modules within 10 weeks after they begin.
My postgraduate loan is disbursed over three years, and for this academic year, I will only receive a partial amount for the first year.
This means I don’t have enough funds available upfront to pay for the full cost of my selected modules within the 10-week window.
My questions:
Has anyone successfully negotiated an extension on the university’s payment deadline or arranged an alternative payment plan?
Is it possible to request Student Finance to adjust the loan structure (e.g., receive the full amount in 2 years instead of 3) after the loan has already been approved?
Are there any alternative solutions that would allow me to continue my studies without interruption due to this funding issue?
I’ve already contacted the university, but I want to explore other options in case they don’t offer any flexibility. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
