Midwifery Interview - Math and English test?

I have applied for Midwifery at Cardiff Uni, University of South Wales, Southampton and Swansea. So far I have heard back from Southampton and Swansea and have been offered an interview. I have heard that prior to or as part of the interview, we have to complete some sort of math and English test. Is this correct? I haven't been able to find any information on any of the universities websites regarding this so I am a bit confused! Any help would be great, thank you!!

If you are required to sit a English and maths test prior to your offer of nursing at university then you'll be told about it and then they will arrange a date for you to do these okay. But most likely you'll probably have to do these but you can phone the university and ask them about this so you know if they are required or not to do okay.

As you'll be dealing with medication ( drugs administered by IV drip or given out pills then you'll have to know how to calculate them)

Don't panic about having to do them because they're basically very easy to do but you'll need 100% pass mark for maths...?

What is the math test for midwifery interview.....
Midwifery Numeracy Tests

The numeracy tests examine your ability to use mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and work with a calculator. In general, the test is 15 minutes in length and has six questions.

What is the English test for midwifery....
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Test Nurses and Midwives must achieve an overall minimum score of 7 in each of the four components. Occupational English Test (OET) for Nurses Nurses and Midwives must achieve an overall Pass, with grades of A or B in all four components of the test.

Hi there,

Congratulations on being offered an interview!
Yeah I agree with @Tracey_W they would definitely tell you if needed to do a test beforehand, and yeah I also can't see anything about it online, so I would say safe to assume its just the interview.

Good luck in your interview, make sure to revise your knowledge on issues and the workings in the profession, and NHS, and be yourself, smile, and try to enjoy it!

I did my interview for Southampton in September and didn't have to do a test. For context I'm a native speaker and recieved at least a 5/C in both Maths and English

Yeah but unfortunately every individual university is different from what they do and if they say they need someone to do a English and maths test prior to starting their course then they have to do it.
