Second year housing
Hi, I’m planning on sharing a house/flat in my 2nd year of university starting September 2025. I’m not sharing with any friends so I’m going to have to find a house that’s looking for 1 flatmate. Does anyone know when the best time to look for housing is as someone who isn’t searching with a group? I’ve been looking on SpareRoom but they all seem to want flatmates ASAP!

Hiya, I know a few friends of mine have found places on Facebook groups for their universities, or by reaching out to their accommodation services at their university. They might have vacancies or show you where to find places. Hope this helps!

Hi, most students might find their houses 1-3 months before the semester. I used to hear from a friend that many student accommodation platforms also provide service to help you find the suitable flatmate, maybe you can check try more platforms or join uni groups on social media.
