falmouth animation portfolio

does anyone know when the deadline is for submitting an animation portfolio to falmouth uni? the applicant page advises 7 days, but ive been reassured by their team that's purely guidance and that it really doesn't matter if you submit later than that.

i've asked a few times when the actual deadline is, since i have one for all of my other choices, but i haven't really received a straight answer. falmouth is my first choice, and since i didn't take art at a-level im making a portfolio from scratch.

I have applied to the games art course and they said the same thing. What they want is for you to sent it as quick as possible. But they are ok if you send it after 7 days.

I sent my 5 days afterwards and all they did really was send me a email asking if I needed some help and giving me some advice for my portfolio after the 7 days went. And a day or two later they sent on the portable thing about my interview and when I wanted to have it.

So basically it's 7 days after you see the message and it's ok if you go after the 7 days. You just won't be able to get your interview done until you do the portfolio.

Also just wanted to say it's ok if you have do your portfolio from strach. I struggled with mine since I'm doing fashion and textiles in college so doesn't really link with games art that's much. But the university fine with it, apparently they more interested in how passionate you are about the course. Good luck though with your portfolio, I'm sure you will do fine!!!! 0(o-o)0

thank you! i did contact them after i saw the message, and they reassured me that the only reason they suggest 7 days is because they want applicants to start thinking about it early on. ive been told they run 1-to-1 sessions on portfolio and interview advice until the middle/end of march, so they seem pretty relaxed about it.

i did art at GCSE but it was all during lockdown and the art department at our school was pretty abysmal as it was. so ive been frantically trying to get as much done as possible to try and prove that i am actually capable and interested in the subject lmao. good luck with your interview, if you havent had it already!

Glad everything going good!!
Sorry that you couldn't get much done due to lockdown. It happened to me in year 8 so the only thing it affected was re-choosing the subjects for year 10 instead of year 9. I also choose art for GCSE but it didn't go so well due to my teachers and the fact I didn't get a sketchbook so my work was a mess. I never really did a lot of things I actually liked doing during my time at art as well :c.

Anyways, hope everything goes well and you get into Falmouth!!!!
Also thank you, I have my interview on the 12th of the march and online since Falmouth is far from where I live -_-.
Have a lovely evening and enjoy the rest of the week!!!
