Offer holder days for pharmacy

hey all!
Ive gotten two offers for mpharm at bath and uclan and hopefully more to come. I was wondering if it would be worth it or if it would be recommended to go to offer holder days as all of them would be pretty far from me as in over hours via train and would end up also being pretty costly but also i keep seeing people going to theirs on social media and keep getting emails from universities but im not sure if thats just algorithm and obviously universities will push for it
Any advice / thoughts would be really nice!!!

Did you attend the open day at both universities? If you did, then you can probably skip the offer-holder days if you have distance/cost concerns. I say that because they're generally very similar in format.

The main reason people attended offer-holder days is because they're unsure which of the offers they've received to firm and which to insure. I assume that you're not in this position, and know what decision you're going to make?

If your haven't attended the open days then you should make every effort to attend the offer-holder days. You're going to be living and studying there for three years (or more) so you should really take a look at the place before making that committment.

Hi @Catjue35,

Congratulations on your offers for MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy and it's great to see that we are one of them! 🎉

Offer Holder Days are a great way to delve deeper into your course as you'll have the opportunity to attend a taster session and a chance to speak with current students and course tutors. You will also have the option to take a student led tour of campus and the city to get a feel for student life here in Preston. Offer holder days are optional events and we’d love to see you on campus but if you can't make it, don’t worry this won’t impact your offer. It's important to make the best decision for you and I understand the cost of travelling to us may be a factor in your decision. Whilst we'd always encourage you to come and see us in person if possible, there is also the option to explore campus through our virtual experience.

If you are interested in coming along to our offer holder day, keep an eye on your emails for an invite but please note that our offer holder days are not open to all courses and only UK applicants.

Whatever you decide I wish you all the best and if you have any questions at all, do let me know. 😊

It was pretty nice tbh the people helping out are nice i had a nice interviewer it focuses on the usual questions why pharmacy etc and the gphc standards and asks u to exercise sone skills fron the gphc standards tbh mibe was a while ago so i cant remember too much it is really nice to acc see the campus irl and have a walk around tho i will say its in an open room with other applicants which may seem a little intimidating but dw u just need a bit if confidence i will say that the con may be a little lack if organisation maybe? Im not sure if it was on purpose but they didnt really tell any of us our time slots so it was difficult to tell when the day would finish so i would also bring some work to maybe do in between bur also u can make some friends see what ur potential course mates are like which is always super nice i met sone really sweet people there and we did a bit of quick interview practice at lunch after the taster session with one of the kecturers which was super cool overall dw about it i used the blackstone tutor website's free resources which has some good questions to practice bht overall dont stress too much link bacj to gphc values and nhs values and be confident good luck!!!

I completley forgot but as theres a bit if a claculations test its not hard dw just remember to bring a pen and a calculator they do provide if u dont but its nice to be prepped and seem a bit more prepared also i recommend talking to some people at the registration its super nice to hear what everyone else is up to and where they are at with their studies and u can make a friend to talk to whilst waiting for ur interview as it can feel quite tense before ur interview
