You are not as unusual as you think.
I appreciate you may seek connection with someone just don’t confuse attention with connection.
The best thing you can always do and this applies in terms of attracting any good in your life is build the best you and your own happiness and then think about other people. You are young and the world really is your oyster! Dating is fun and there I no wrong in it but don’t go into it because you feel you are behind others as opposed to wanting to do so.

I recommend you don't rush into anything. Only engage in romance with a person if you're interested in that person rather than just wanting a boyfriend in the abstract.
