UCL Study Abroad Costs

I'm considering studying abroad, but in the case I do, how much do I have to pay for tuition outside of living/travel costs?

Are we talking about studying abroad for a year; a semester (as an exchange) or in the summer break (as a summer program)?

I don’t study at UCL but for me, I didn’t have to pay any tuition fees for the university I was studying abroad at. My university covered the tuition fees of the foreign university, so I didn’t pay any tuition fees to the host university, I simply paid reduced tuition fees to my home university.

UCL seems to have information on this here:

From UCL:

Students on an exchange programme with one of UCL’s partner universities will not be required to pay tuition fees to the host institution.

Hi there,

It really depends! Your best bet to get the most accurate information would be to contact the study abroad team at your university.

For me, I wasn't required to pay any fees to my host university (aside from anything extra, such as medical services and additional classes). Everything I paid went to Chester, where I paid a reduced tuition fee (15%) and an accommodation fee, since I was an exchange.

I was still able to apply for student finance, as well as additional funding.

I hope this helps,
