Why is it so hard to start a career in finance

I have graduated a year ago and have been trying to get into investment banking but it is so tough and I have almost given up hope since I am so demotivated. i have been working with two-three recruitment agencies but it feels like they just do not want to help with getting me into a placement. what should i do?

Job sector is awful for graduates, just have to apply, apply and apply. Hundreds of applications, try to be as open and flexible as possible.

What stage of recruitment cycles are you getting stuck at? Application, online testing, interviews, assessment centres?

I have made over 300 applications and have managed to get only 3 interviews that have also been online. I dont know what im doing wrong.

I have made 200 applications and there has not been even one single response so i also don't know what am i doing wrong

It's the same case with me aswell, no luck. I am currently working with recruitment central and they have been pretty helpful but I am lacking an IAC certificate as told by them, have you faced this issue? I read some of their reviews on their trustpilot and reddit so I am worried they are trying to scam me

Check out the Canary Wharfian website. Btw, rec agencies are notorious for being scummy

turns out it is a scam, a friend of mine had the same call from stefan at recruitment central and they said the same thing to her, that she will need a course from CIFA. after doing my own research and a little of digging , it turns out the certification is not even FCA recognised

The first placement is always most tough, one idea is to go working for company or organisation, which works as bridge between uni and business, i have found it as big help. I know some, if you want to know more ..
