Warwick GEM work experience - working as a nurse.

Hi all,
I’m applying for Warwick Gem September 2026 entry, and I was wondering if anyone knew about the work experience requirements coming from a nursing background? I’m a RMN for the past two and a half years, and fully hit the hours/experience requirements easily.
However it states it wants two different experiences, which is pretty difficult to do as a qualified nurse, as it’s against the NMC guidelines to work in another healthcare position . Would working my full time job, and also on the bank found as two different experiences? Thanks 😊

I would email them direct. The other good option which defo counts is BSMS online work experience- it’s just watching videos and answering questions and then producing a reflection piece. You will easily manage it being a nurse. I think it takes about 10 hours. It’s mentioned on the Warwick website work experience section

Hi,

When I spoken to them, they've suggested shadowing GPs, theatres, and radiology.
I am also from a nursing background. I am due to qualify from BSN adult this year and plan on applying in 2026.
I suggest that you speak to them directly, although sometimes they refer you to the website for more information.
Regardless of this, the experience is for you to ensure this is the path you will like to take, therefore, reflect on this. The strength of your application will depend on your reflection.

I wish you the best!
