Is Chatgpt accurate at marking essays?

Has anyone ever sent an essay to mark to chatgpt? I used it for my business 20 marker seemed pretty accurate only 1-2 marks away from what my teacher gave me, anyone else tried it?
I wouldn’t recommend using AI in this context personally, better to ask and trust teachers or tutors with experience in the subject.

I guess that it can be used a last resort though (not at University level or for any assessed coursework).

If chatgpt could reliably mark essays, teachers would already be using it for that! Sadly, it is no better at marking essays than at writing them. It's not thinking - it's not really 'AI' at all - it's essentially just a statistical model that's good at making plausible imitations of the sorts of strings of words that would be created based on everything it's read on the internet. Think of it as a bad tribute band to human writing. Ask your tutors for feedback, not an unthinking algorithm.
