I got a 3.8 in the TMUA. How likely am I to receive an offer from Imperial?

I just got my TMUA results today and got a 3.8 which is significantly below what even I was expecting (I was expecting at least a 5). I am applying for Computing and AI and my application is very strong in the other areas with A*A*A* predicted in Further Maths, Maths and Computer Science. I also have an excellent reference that mentions how I ranked 2nd in Maths in my whole year and my personal statement also shows how passionate I am about Computer Science and AI. I am also a contextual applicant so I am wondering if I still have a chance at getting into Imperial or whether I should give up hope.

I also achieved all 9s and a couple of 8s in my GCSEs.

I'm sorry to say but your chances do look quite slim. I think they put a heavy emphasis on the TMUA score for such a competitive course.

Yeah same situation as you sadly, woke up to a 3.5 somehow as opposed to the 7s and 8s I got when I was practicing for the TMUA. We're gonna need to be blessed to get into imperial now 😭

damn man. same did not expect such bad grades. my imperial application is absolutely cooked as well

Remember the scheme changed this year. 6.5 this year is a 5. 7s and 8s on a 2023 paper would score much lower this year.

Probably a low chance, I got a 5.4 and even my chances are slim.

People on here are saying the cut off may be a 7. I'm applying for BSc Mathematics.

Top 8% being the cutoff is a bit stupid, maybe the average for an offer doubt it would be a cut off because then 75% of the offer holders would go Oxbridge

It’s not, people with below 6 have got in with extenuating circumstances or contextual and low 6s for non contextual or circumstances

Nope, still haven't heard anything back from them yet, hopefully that means they're still considering me.
