BSc Media, Communications and Sociology at St Georges

Hi, I’m Nally 😊 I am a second-year student in Media, Communications and Sociology with Quantitative Methods at City St Georges. I particularly chose this course because it is a very practical course, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge into creative outputs. Throughout two years of studying, I got to learn interesting knowledge and gain practical skills such as different writing styles, creating advertising campaigns, pitching a PR campaign and analyzing digital representation.

I am a Marketing and Events Student Ambassador, in which I am responsible for representing my course and answering related questions, welcoming prospective students and helping out with on-campus events. Additionally, I am also a Unibuddy Ambassador, where I answer questions from prospective students about my course or anything about City St Georges.

I am an international student from Vietnam. Moving to London for university on my own has been a big challenge, but it was an amazing experience and journey overall. Currently, I really enjoy my university life in London with lots of things to explore.

I’d love to answer any questions and love to hear from others as well! - What course are you studying? What are you excited the most about City St Georges?

Not really a question but I did Media and Communication at a different uni (loved it, thoroughly recommend) and I'm so jealous you have a media, comms, and sociology course. I tried to pick the most social science-y modules but they were ultimately still media modules. A distinct media, communication, and sociology pathway would've been SO much better.

Thank you so much - that's so lovely to hear! I'm glad that you enjoyed your course so far. I totally get what you mean having Sociology alongside Media and Comms adds such an interesting layer. We get to explore everything from digital distribution and consumer culture to media economies, while also learning how to use data and social theory to analyse society. It really gives me a broader perspective and opens up different career paths too! 😊
