Bath spa- has forensic sciences, bio med which have more reasonable entry requirements. (DDM-DMM) Uni of bath- doesn’t have forensics but has bio med but has DDD entry requirements.
Its great to hear you're considering Bath (and our neighbours Bath Spa!) - I too applied for both as a student.
You will have heard this dozens of times before but which uni you should consider is a very personal decision with a lot of factors to consider.
What I would say for Bath is that as a former student, I genuinely loved the campus, the vibrant community and the cosy, green, open campus here. The teaching quality and research standard is excellent, and it has one of the best, most well-supported industrial placement schemes in the country. If you wanted to do a placement, its a lot of fun, a chance to do something different and it will add its weight in gold to your graduate CV 🙂 I would also say that statistically, Bath performs quite a lot better in all the major league tables than Bath Spa for STEM subjects.
I cannot speak for Bath Spa, but as a uni, Bath Spa has a truly beautiful campus, full of green space and is well-connected travel-wise to both Bath and Bristol. As a community the uni offers more creative arts subjects and so this gives the uni a different feel.
Your number one priority should be deciding on which course you like the sound of more - which offers the most modules which really spark your interest? Do any sound like they'd help you towards any career goals you have? Which would you choose if you went there? Its then about what kind of campus you want to be at. Bath and Bath Spa are quite similar in a lot of ways but do have different vibes to them - if you have the chance to visit both then I'd hugely recommend it, plus talking to a few current students and lecturers if you can. Open days are a great way to do this 🙂
I really hope this helped but if you have any more questions please post away!
