Over 60 at start of course, will current funding continue on change of institution

My current university is ceasing to teach my course on its current campus, I am looking at other universities but want to understand whether my current funding will continue. I live in England but study at a Welsh University currently, I receive both tuition and maintenance loans (maximum). Primary issue is I was over 60 at the start of my course, is changing institution a necessarily a change of course even where I study X and will study X at the new institution?

Hi Kaywoodhouse,

Can you confirm how many years of previous study you have?

What course is it that you are looking to attend?

Thanks, Clare

I have no previous study prior to current. I am currently 4 years into an 8 year degree, all part time, studying 60 credits a year where full timers do 120. Currently doing BA archaeology with foundation but looking to move to BA archaeology as foundation now complete.

Hi Kay,

Can you please tell us what institute you're with now?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi I think this is reaching into the realms of data which will identify me, how do we switch this into a private conversation?

Hi there,

We don't have account access over this platform, and this is why we need as much information as possible to determine and advise you further. If you would rather speak to someone with your details, you can call us on 0300 100 0607, or use the live chat option online in your account.

If you wish to proceed on here with general information, can you confirm the full name of the university?

Thanks,
Claire

Based on what you have advised, you will be classed as a new student if you withdrawn from your current course. This means you won't be eligible for the Part Time Maintenance Loan for your new course, but should be eligible for Tuition Fee Loan.

Thanks,
Claire
