Chemical engineering: nottingham or sheffield?

I'm really stuck as to which to choose.

nottingham has slightly better outcomes but I'm not sure what reasons that's due to - maybe industry links (if someone could help I'd appreciate it)

sheffield has the Diamond and the first powder processing plant in the UK i think which seems interesting, but not sure whether that's something students use often or not

Both are very good universities. And whichever you choose, you will enjoy and do well (so long as you work hard). So there's no wrong decision here.

If both courses have their strengths, have a think about where you'd prefer to live.

(And Sheffield is of course home to the Blades, which is a big bonus!)

I would personally pick The University of Sheffield as it's the best University for Student Experience and amongst the best universities for Engineering courses. I recently left Nottingham as I had such a bad experience there.

All the chemical engineering labs take place in the Diamond. It has great facilities and on average you will get a lab every week.

Hi im in the same position which did you pick?

Hiya,

Congratulations on your offer!

I would definitely recommend going to offer holder days as you can get a more in-depth insight into university life and talk to lecturers and even take part in a few activities. I chose to come to Sheffield after attending offer holder days from other universities and feeling like it was the best fit for me so I would suggest this if you are struggling to pick.

While university is about your degree, it is also the place you will be living in for the next few years of your life so the city is just as important too.

If you have any questions about Chemical Engineering or life in Sheffield, just let me know!
Good luck,

Hey sorry for the late reply, i dont check this site often anymore. I actually ended up picking Leeds over both! I like the campus and the city more than i did the other two, and im glad i did because i really like how the course is run too
