Regarding Pass/Fail Masters by research classification at Cambridge

Hi there,

I applied for my PhD at Cambridge. I completed my Masters by research at an Australian University where the grading system is Pass/Fail. Therefore, I received a "Pass" with no corrections to be made in my thesis and a major component of my thesis being published in a high end journal in my field. This I believe is equivalent to a high distinction for MPhil at Cambridge (as my thesis got published and no corrections to be made in the thesis) which I explicitly mentioned in my personal statement. Additionally, I believe my supervisor (referee 1) also specified this in his reference (that my performance is equivalent to a high distinction). I am wondering how the department at Cambridge will evaluate this situation-whether its considered just as a "Pass" or more? Your advise and help is much appreciated!
