Doubting my choices

I was really set on Lancaster to do mechatronic engineering until recently, i got worried about the lack of optional and overall modules on the course, compared to my other offers, as well as the size of the university and department. I have offers at liverpool, loughborough and leeds. I preferred Lancaster's campus and have a liking of the town vibe. I don't really know what to do know

Hi @fetexe7!

Firstly congratulations on your offers from all universities! 😁

My names Matt and I am a first year student at LJMU. It is perfectly normal to feel stuck with what to do, especially when you have offers from multiple places. Have you attended the open days at all the unis? If you have then great! I would recommend constructing a pros and cons list for each place and that could help with narrowing it down to a final choice! Do the courses differ between each uni? Is there a modules/module on one specific course that really takes your interest? And like you said about Lancaster, which Uni do you feel most comfortable at when visiting? Questions like these can really help when trying to decide on where to go!

Incase you haven't attended open days for each uni, a quick search on there websites should be able to inform you of when they are and it shouldn't be too late to attend. I am not sure what Uni in Liverpool you have received an offer for but no matter which one it is please feel free to ask me anything about life in Liverpool! I will be more than happy to help.

I hope you manage to come to a conclusion soon, just make sure you always do what you think will be most beneficial for yourself and pick wherever you will feel most happy!

Thanks, Matt 😊

Thanks for your advice, I've visited them all at least twice for open days, interviews etcetera. I'll try looking more closely at the course differences. My offer is for uni of liverpool. And i'm from there anyway so i know it pretty well.

Hi @fetexe7
Congratulations on all of your offers! As other ambassadors have mentioned I would recommend looking at the details in terms of the modules you could expect to study at each university and speak to the engineering admissions team if you have any questions. Lancaster university is a medium sized university, however, personally I've always found lots of events and activities happening on campus, so there is always lots to get involved in throughout the year. Also the size of the campus is really convenient as you get to know your way around very quickly and all of your lectures, accommodation, societies and socializing are never more than a 10-15 minute walk away.
Also, I agree i really like the city of Lancaster, it has a real community feel with lots of events happening in the city throughout the year and is surrounded by some lovely countryside if you like getting outdoors between your studies.
If you have any questions about Lancaster, feel free to ask!
