GCSE & French support from a native speaker

What are your tips for exam prep? There is literally SOOOO much vocabulary on the spec itself, as well as "wow" phrases for writing and speaking so do you have any advice for managing it all while remaining mostly sane?

Managing all the vocab while staying sane is definitely a challenge! The best way is to break it down into small, manageable chunks. Start with the most common words and gradually add "wow" phrases that can be reused in different contexts. Spaced repetition (like Anki or Quizlet) helps a lot to memorise eveything in the long term and practicing with past papers makes everything stick.
For writing, having a few go-to sentence structures for each topic is a lifesaver. For example, if you master complex structures like "Si j’avais plus de temps, je voudrais..." or "Bien que ce soit difficile, je pense que...", you can use them across multiple essays. Also, planning your answer before writing helps you stay clear and organized.
For speaking, try to practice out loud as much as possible. Even just answering past paper questions to yourself helps with fluency. Recording yourself and listening back can also highlight areas to improve. Another great trick is to prepare a few strong answers to common questions (like "Parle-moi de ta ville" or "Que feras-tu après tes examens?") so you can reuse parts of them in different situations.
I also do tutoring if you ever need more structured help, feel free to reach out! 😊

Thanks for the help, I'll keep this in mind! <3

Hey!
thank you so much for the offer- im currently drowning in french higher gcse (aqa) and i was wondering if you had any tips to make my writing a bit less bland

My teachers tell me to include idiomatic expressions however i really struggle to find any useable ones to include in my writing that makes sense- i was wondering if you had any advice.

Also, particularly in the writing (sorry to be repetitive) i struggle with constantly including interesting opinions and justifications and tend to use the more boring ones just to get it over and done with which usually makes my writing bland to be honest...

any tips would be amazing! thank you

The one idiom that's great to use is "je dis ça je dis rien" - it means "just saying" and you can basically put it anywhere!

Also for making your writing more interesting, try and learn some more interesting adjectives like "barbant" instead of "ennuyeux" and instead of saying c'est.... you can say "Je pense que" or "Je crois que" or "je dirais que" as this gets a conditional in at the same time and lets you develop your answer more. You can give specific exmaples for justifications adn this can help u get in more tenses (eg. i think that my friend is perfect because she is caring. For example, last week she did this....)
