History or Statistics?

I’m in year 9 and I’m picking my options. I know I definitely want to do triple science and Spanish but not sure if I should pick history or statistics. I like the sound of both and I’m really stuck on what to do. What’s your advice??

Are you better at English or Maths? If English, do history and if Maths, do Statistics. I dropped Statistics a few months into it though. Not really due to the fact I was bad at it or hated it though. I did find it a bit repetitive with Maths but if you quite enjoy maths, go for it.

It depends on which one you think you’d enjoy the most. I took stats, enjoyed the course, and achieved a grade 8. It helps if you enjoy maths, (especially if your school runs further maths in Year 11) but the stats course is surprisingly a lot more writing based than you might imagine. You learn a lot about statistical enquiry; how to collect, use data, and form conclusions, and it will teach you the importance of writing concise answers, something that’s important for many GCSE subjects. Most importantly, choose the subjects that you enjoy, and would enjoy learning about.

Look at the question papers. Which looks more 'you'? It really won't matter so either is fine
