Is OCR Popular?

Honestly I don’t know why but I am making an assumption that OCR A is used by so much a level students for stem subjects

Where as GCSEs like AQA is used and Edexcel?

What is the difference and similarity?

Anecdotal evidence sure but my school did AQA for GCSE and then does OCR for a level sciences and OCR seems common for a level but not gcse generally. There are stats you can find on the number of candidates entered in for each subject by exam board so you could investigate if you wanted. Not sure why OCR is popular though, AQA is sometimes viewed somewhat negatively due to the essay in Biology (but that’s just biology). Could be to do with availability of resources due to popularity which basically feeds itself lol or grade boundaries. I think a level teachers might often want to teach the spec they’ve taught previously so a spec that is common is likely to be continued with that teacher. Take none of this as fact, im just speculating 🙂
