Hi there,
I'm a current student at Swansea Uni, School of Social Sciences.
Uni is quite different from college in a lot of ways but at the end of the day, it all depends on your choices.
The main thing about uni is you get so much free time and minimal lecture contact hours so how you spend your days depends on your kind of person and what you want to do. Some people are very invested in their academics and could easily dedicate numerous hours to their studies without being prompted to. Others may choose to develop their social life with friends and colleagues and have tons of fun. Most strive to find a convenient balance. You'll have to figure out a system that works for you on your own. But sincerely, don't worry too much. Uni is fun overall

.
You could get to know your lecturers if you want to. There would be numerous opportunities to get to know your lecturers and get them to know you as well, like during lectures, seminars and even socials like bowling or society outings. It really just depends on how much effort and time you are willing to put into social interactions and if you actually take the initiative to walk up to them. Answering and asking questions in lectures will also help you develop a good relationship with your lecturers.
Overall, most lecturers in Swansea uni are super nice and welcoming. Majority of them love it when their students show interests in their modules, academics and from there you could start having random conversations. I've got lecturers that are very free and easily talk about their families, time in uni, how they have fun and so many other random topics that get me wondering... "How did we even get to this topic?"😅
So yeah, the summary is, uni is about finding a 'work-life balance', lecturers are nice, just develop the courage to walk up to them.
Hope that helps.😊
Wishing you the very best!
