I'm not expert but I've dabbled in Russian a bit Aside from the horrendous grammar (!) the alphabet isn't a big problem. You can learn it in a couple of days, look at something like "Learn to Read and Write the Russian Script" from the Teach Yourself series, or even just look on Toy Tube as there are lots of free resources on there (with pronunciation, too obvs).

What I found a bit more challenging was Russian handwriting, as that's slightly different again.

ive been studying russian for a year now. i would reccomend spending a couple of days studying the alphabet and doing some exercises/tasks - i understand that the russian alphabet has a few letters that look similar to the one in the english alphabet and its easy to mix them up. all i can advice is PRACTICE PRACTICE!! id reccomend doing some reading exercises - reading the words out loud. theres also this website called forvo which is great if you have issues with pronunciation
Learning a new (non-Roman) script is always a bit hard when you start, if you just make a point of reading (including out loud) and writing in the script as much as possible you can get used to a new script surprisingly quickly though.

For pronunciation this can vary, for sounds not normally found in English it can take a while to get used to it - try recording yourself and listening to recordings of people saying the same sound and keep practicing it by listening back.
