Is Warwick lonely?

I want to go Warwick but not sure about how I'll make friends

I’ve heard that they have some kind of matching quiz before you go so your accom is personalised to make sure you relate to your roommates which will surely make it easier to make friends. Although I’ve heard the going out scene isn’t great I’m sure making friends will be easy with their accom system and just the general tight knit vibe they have !

Hi, I'm a first year student at Warwick now and I was super anxious to come to uni, not sure how I'd make friends etc. However, I love it at Warwick! The accomodation is matched through some personalisation quiz, I don't love my flatmates but we are all civil and get on okay, but most people I know really get on with their flat - so there's a high chance due to the quiz, that you'll be in a flat with likeminded people. Your course will be a great place to make friends too and societies. I found freshers really overwhelming, but you will have so many chances throughout the year to keep making friends - just try to put yourself out there occasionally and try connect with people on social media so you can message and meet up. Especially if you don't love clubbing/drinking, you can them DM people and meet up with them in more relaxed environments that you are comfortable in. It is daunting at first but try not to worry or put too much pressure on making friends, I've found everyone is super friendly, nobody is coming to uni with friends, everyone is in the same boat, and everyone wants to make friends so you naturally will. Just try be sociable and go to events 🙂 good luck!
