rejected from kings for my 30/42 lnat (international)

Hello fellow students! I'm an international student who has been rejected by KCL for "not meeting their literacy test requirements", which I take to mean the LNAT, for law. My PG is competitive (below 43, above 38 for IB) and I have been told my PS was excellent. I would appreciate some input in whether y'all think I should a. email KCL politely asking for their LNAT requirements this year/feedback or b. let it go. It just seems a little strange considering the average profile of their offer holders, but I don't want to be *that* student either....thanks everyone! I appreciate it

Hi! In terms of 'literacy test,' I believe this means the IELTs - perhaps this is what they required you to take as an international student (it should be in their entry requirements). I know that people who have been rejected from King's for their LNAT score are rejected on the basis of their "admissions test score being uncompetitive" which is greatly different to a 'literacy test'!

!!!! I see! I take Language A Eng Lit (native language course) in the IB, and was thus told I didn't need to take the IELTs by my counselor (my other unis haven't told me to do so either...) but I hadn't considered this possibility, so your reply is really helpful! thank you so much xxx :biggrin:D

Of course, no worries! I'm so sorry you weren't told about this beforehand - best of luck with everything! 🙂

Universities do sometimes make mistakes when assessing applications, especially at the initial screening stage where the people working in admissions can be unbelievably stupid. So it is worth taking KCL up on this if you can prove, from reading their website, that your application meets standard requirements.

Thank you! I sent a polite email to their potential applicants team since their appeal form doesn't work for me ☹️ I have other offers, so it's not a life or death situation, but I am trying to get someone to look over my info again 🙂 Thank you for the response! I appreciate it <333

People make mistakes. That does not mean that those people are stupid. There are some posters here who work in university admissions. They are very helpful and not stupid.

Admissions staff at popular universities such as KCL are busy at this time of year.
