Should I get frenuloplasty?

I'm a 28 year old male and I had balanitis on my penis so I went to go get checked out. The doctor treated me for the balanitis and said he noticed I had a short frenulum and referred me to get frenuloplasty.

However, I've never had any issues, I'm able to retract my foreskin behind the glands of my penis perfectly fine when erect. The only thing is, if I retract it even further back so it's like I'm pulling the foreskin back down my shaft towards the base then the frenulum pulls the head of the penis down.

The doctor told me that I should get the surgery but I'm a bit nervous. I've read a lot of horror stories online about this and I'm unsure whether to get it. If I've not had any issues then should I get it done?

While I said that, he said the frenuloplasty can help improve cleanliness to reduce risk of balanitis again.

Has anyone had this done? If so:

1) How was it?
2) how is your sensitivity post-op? I read online it's common for people to experience permanent increase sensitivity which may lead to premature ejaculation or painful sex in the area where the frenulum used to be?
3) how is the appearance?
4) how does it feel like when pulling the foreskin back over to cover the glands? does it still automatically do this?
