any filipinos going to uni of leicester 2025?

i was wondering if any filipinos are going to uni of leicester in 2025? i saw that leicester doesnt have a filipino society and was kinda upset knowing that only dmu has one. I am now reconsidering picking another uni because i feel that meeting people with the same culture background as me is important to stay connected to my filipino culture (im half filipino). is there any suggestions? i might consider launching my own filipino society at this point hahah

It is great to hear that you are thinking of coming to Leicester to become a Citizen of Change. We very much look forward to welcoming you! Leicester and both universities are very diverse and so you can easily find people of each culture. Sometimes although the university do have online platforms where you can meet other offer holders, it can sometimes be difficult to find your people before you attend. You may find it much easier to find other Filipinos when you get here across all years!

Being able to stay connected to your Filipino culture is understandably importantly and very much encouraged here at the University of Leicester. In order to start a new student society you only need three people to take on the core roles; president, treasurer and wellbeing and inclusion officer. Therefore, you could start bringing about positive change by setting up such a society.
