lancaster uni offer

I just got an offer from Lancaster uni to do Electronic and Electrical Engineering by doing a foundation year at another uni( i was as surprised as you when I got the offer).

The problem is since I lived at home while at my current uni, I never experienced having to get a dorm and when/where to even start looking, living alone + I'm unsure if I'm too broke to even live there cause I heard it costs a lot to live there and I can't even apply for a bursary cause my parent's income combined make over 30k.

+ I have no money and never took a maintenance loan for my foundation year cause I didn't want any debt :frown:

ANY help on where to find answers to any of the problems would be appreciated

In Lancaster you are looking at accommodation fees of £5,000 per year and upwards. Then you need to factor in your living costs to pay for food, travel, entertainment, etc. Tuition fees will be £9,535 per year. Realistically, you will need £18,000-£20,000 per year to pay your fees, accommodation and living costs so you will need to apply for student finance for both a tuition fee and a maintenance loan.

Have a read through the following article, which explains how student loans work:

Then you can get an idea of what maintenance loan you could get by using the calculator:
