1st year accommodation at uni of Nottingham

I’m starting 1st year at uni of Nottingham and I don’t know which accom to pick. Which accoms are most social? Should I go private or stay in halls?

Hello!

I honestly believe that it really depends on a number of contraints that may be:

•

Available budget.

•

Catered vs. Self-catered.

•

Where your course is based (i.e., Jubilee Campus).

One could argue that the most sociable ones may be those which are catered since you will be in a common area to catch up with other students. Personally, I preferred the self-catered options as I could eat whatever food I wanted whenever I wanted it. However, it really depends on a lot of factors as I mentioned 🙂.

I am also starting first year in 2025 and all my friends who are in uni recommend staying in school accommodation as this is a way to get to know people outside of your course and hang out with the others.
