Help S6 subject for medicine

Hi I’m currently in s5 and doing Nat 5 applications of maths. I want to do medicine and for medicine u need either maths or physics so in s6 I’m not sure if I should do higher maths or crash higher physics, doing both will be hard at the same time but I could do that aswell .

I think you should check each of the university's you want to apply to entry requirements before making your decision, cause most universities are very specific on the subjects they want from you.
For example for Medicine at St Andrews the entry requirements are:

To be considered for interview, applicants must have achieved the following grades:

Standard entry grades: AAAAB in S5. Predicted to achieve at least BBB in Highers or Advanced Highers or a mix of Highers and Advanced Highers in S6.

Minimum entry grades: AAABB in S5. Predicted to achieve at least BB in Highers or Advanced Highers or a mix of Highers and Advanced Highers in S6.

Gateway to Medicine: BBBB in Highers in S5

Highers must include Chemistry and one of Biology (or Human Biology), Mathematics or Physics, to be taken at the same sitting. If not passed at Higher, applicants must also have National 5 grade B in Biology (or Human Biology), Mathematics, and English.

So let’s say you were applying here since you are not currently doing higher math or physics the only way you could apply is if you are doing biology cause you have to get the grades in one sitting.

Hope this helps!

To St Andrews? Yeah, as long as you meet the entry requirements you’re good to go since you are taking 5 highers including chemistry and biology. You don’t even have to take higher physics or math but I would recommend taking higher math in S6 instead of physics

U cant get into medicine with apps, so u have to choose nat 5 or higher maths next year (if allowed to crash).
