While neither option is fair, personally I would just sit all the exams on one day to get it over and done with.

Can anyone advise pls?

I have 4 exams (2 different subjects) on same day with 2 of the papers clashing times in the middle of the day.

I start at 9am, last exam finishes 5pm (the latest of all the exams scheduled this year - typical)

6hrs 10 mins of exam papers.

School have offered me to
1) sit all the exams on one day appropriately spaced out meaning I could potentially be there until 7pm (a 10 hour day of final exams!)
2) stay overnight in hotel with teacher - my mobile etc would be removed from me at 2pm and I could not contact anyone. I would sit the different subjects the following morning and get phone etc back at 12 noon (22 hours with no comms with parents or the outside world).

I don't think any option is fair?

You're right, it's not fair. But they have to protect the integrity of the exam, so can't really do it any other way.

If we were talking about GCSEs or A levels, then your school would be able to apply for "special consideration" on your behalf. For this scenario, that'd mean your final paper having 2% added to your mark.

"Allowance on the last paper taken in a day when a candidate has been entered for three or more examinations timetabled for the same day and the total duration of those papers is more than 5 hours 30 minutes (GCSE, level 1 and level 2 examinations) or more than 6 hours (GCE and level 3 examinations)."

For Highers there appears to be a similar concept called the Examination Exceptional Circumstances Consideration Service (EECCS), but it's not 100% clear to me whether it would apply to your scenario. I suggest you ask your school about it.

Are you not allowed to stay at home closely supervised by your parents to ensure you cannot communicate with friends/people online? Will you have to share a room with the teacher?!

In the same situation but school not offered any options. Parent contacted SQA who said they would not be changing it. Personally, I’m just going to get them done as per SQA timetable rather than dragging it out

What are you doing about the overlapped exams? I have 2 at exactly the same time so can't go by the SQA timetable. Are you getting isolated from everyone and doing them at different times?

Ive an hour between
