Hi, I applied for Meng Civil Engineering and got in to these places; Glasgow - conditional Edi Strath Aberdeen Dundee I don’t know how to pick between them. I’ve ruled out Dundee and probably Aberdeen. Good course is important obviously but I also want good night life and fun things to do when I’m there. Does anyone have advice on how to pick?
For engineering and architectural subjects, from what I know Strathclyde is the best at those subjects more than Glasgow uni. I’ve got cousins who did at Strathclyde and found a job after it

Hi there,
I'm currently in my 2nd year of Mechanical Engineering at Glasgow and have absolutely loved it so far! Like you said course is important, and in the first year of any engineering degree the content is pretty general, but what's really made my time at union is the extracurricular/ social side. Personally I love living in the West End of the city as the campus is gorgeous and everything is right on your doorstep. There's countless bars, restaurants and cafes, the Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park are both super close and the transport links to the centre are good too. We have two student unions, which do everything from weekly club nights to St Paddy's day celebrations, debates, live music and quizzes. There is quite literally hundreds of societies, and over 50 sports clubs to get involved in, and they will host fun events like balls and ceilidhs throughout the year as well.
I couldn't imagine studying anywhere else, I've met the best community of people and got involved in so many fun things! If you have any questions please let me know, Elise 2nd Year Student Rep, Mechanical Engineering, BEng
