S6 Subject help

Really struggling about what to take for next, currently studying H Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Apps of maths, English and ADVH Maths and Maths of Mechanics, all A's in prelim. Still unsure what I want to study in university but definitely something maths or science related, leaning slightly towards maths right now. My main problem for S6 is i'm out of maths subjects that my school offers that i can study and i'm worried that if i do go to uni for maths i will have forgotten a large amount of what i have learned if I take a year off maths. For S6 I definitely want to study ADVH Graphic Communication (did higher in S4) and some ADVH Sciences, my school offers foundation apprenticeships in science and they sound very interesting and a good practical subject to get me out of my comfort zone (theory work) a bit. I am also quite a lazy person so i'm pretty confident that if I have too many free periods i will lose all work ethic that i currently have, so wondering if ADVH graphics, physics, biology, chemistry and doing a foundation apprenticeship in science is an option.
Any advice?

You can consider studying Natural Sciences at uni. If possible you can pick an ADVH math subject

I'm... confused.

Are you saying that you're taking Higher Biology, Higher Chemistry, Higher Physics, Higher Apps of Maths, Higher English, Advanced Higher Maths and Advanced Higher Maths of Mechanics... all in S5? Five Highers and two Advanced Highers? In S5? Plus, you did Higher Graphics in S4? And I'm guessing Higher Maths and Higher Maths of Mechanics in S4 too if you're doing them as Advanced Highers now?

Forgive me, but I find that rather difficult to believe. I can't understand how you're able to fit all of those subjects into your timetable. I'd guess the average high school timetable is ~30 periods per week and I can't see how you're able to fit so many subjects into that. Not to mention at the level you're doing them in. At least, in my school the progression is typically Nat5s in S4, Highers in S5 and Adv. Highers (and/or more Highers) in S6.

I don't mean to sound rude - I do hope I'm not coming off that way - but I'm just sceptical about how realistic it is. I'm sure you can see why though. I can offer advice but I just wanted to make sure I understood everything correctly beforehand.

Don't worry I totally understand your skepticism, I am in quite an odd predicament but it is totally real. to clarify, last year in S4 i did 7 nat5 and 2 highers (Maths and Graphics) getting all A1 and this year i am doing 5 highers 2 advanced highers. I am an academic person especially when it comes to maths, which is why i am leaning slightly towards maths at uni, so my school has allowed me to do some highers or advanced highers a year early. I am not coursed into either of my advanced highers but rather self study them during my other classes, I learn ADVH maths during apps of maths and ADVH maths of mechanics during physics. I'm wanting to make my S6 enjoyable but want to keep working hard to maintain my work ethic for when i go to uni, and I probably won't be able to do any maths subjects next year which is unfortunate.

I don't think that any scottish unis offer natural sciences and i would prefer to go to uni in Scotland as it is a fair bit cheaper. Thanks for the advice

Having free periods where you have to self motivate yourself is really good prep for university - the advanced higher sciences will have independent projects so you will likely need free periods in order to run experiments etc. Doing all three sciences at advanced higher is also a lot, mainly due to the dissertation workload - you may find you physically don’t have enough hours in the day as you can’t really do science experiments at home. The foundation apprenticeship sounds useful to push yourself out of your comfort zone - you could maybe do that and adv Graphics, Physics and Chem or something? I wouldn’t do more than four things though. Have you considered doing advanced higher stats to keep the maths side of things up?

Would also add that S6 is a good time to get some other things sorted - getting your drivers license, learning to properly cook etc.

Thanks for the advice, I've been thinking about stats but my school doesn't offer it so I would have to self study, I've self studied higher and advanced higher maths so would be doable but not ideal as I would have to find good resources, however that is certainly an option. Do you know anyone who has done stats?

Good point, I don't know about S6 but in S5 at my school little homework was given and I had plenty of free time at home. I imagine it will be different next year though with projects
